This thesis just aim at the research of multicast technology in Ad hoc network environment. As the development of wireless communication and computer network technology, wireless network gains more and more attention for its flexibility and practicability. At the same time, multicast makes progress, so how to band together wireless LAN and multicast, get effective error checking and correcting, provide reliable communication in wireless LAN become burgeoning research topic. The thesis analyze the multicast technology and reliable multicast technology, explain the conception of wireless LAN, emphasis on Ad hoc network. Also discuss the network routing protocol, the definition of on-demand routing and correlative conceptions. Base on analysis of several routing protocol, we take ODMRP (On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol) as our primary research object, carry out our multicast error control protocol on the base of ODMRP. Study and bring forward a new Ad hoc multicast error control protocol--ARMDP(Ad hoc Reliable Multicast Data Distribution Protocol).This protocol uses a combination of high efficiency Forward Error Correction (FEC) and integrated Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) in application layer, can effectively controls errors,guarantee high efficiency reliable data transmission. We emulate the performance base on the protocol frame. The emulate results show that the protocol designed in this thesis can guarantee reliable transmission of data packet in wireless Ad hoc network multicast application, also, its end-to-end delay is stable, has good multicast data transmission quality. ARMDP is a multicast error control protocol for wireless Ad hoc network which has good error control effort, short delay-time, stable performance.
