The Development Of VIC Management System According To Software Engineering Method

New Vehicle Insurance Information Management System is designed for managing open cover information and related statistics data for vehicles within a Vehicle Insurance Center(VIC) which consists of Marketin & Service Depatments from a number of insurance companys. It has main functions of Accepting Insurance information Inputing, Mortgage Vehicle Policy Registering, Fell Back Vehicle Registering, Accounting, Special Declaration Management, User Logging, Extend of Management Authority Control, etc.. In the course of system design, it fully takes in account of business demanding of VIC and satisfying the need to data statistics and analysis. Besides, it can supply vehicle insurance information to Vehicle Management Authority in real time for the purpose of management on licence plate issusing for new vehicle, vehicle annual inspection and so on. During the system development, the data table designing adheres to database theory seamlessly and software engine technology are employed. Its basic design is the process-oriented program design.The whole system is deployed on an IBM Netfinity Server,with OS is SCO OPEN SERVER,database system is Informix Dynamic Server (IDS 7.3). The system holds the features of high reliability and user friendly operation of easy modifying, easy maintainance, easy being changed to the other platform , etc.. Since the system has being used, it greatly reduces the workload and promotes the business management and operation standardizing to the Vehicle Insurance Center,especially on the business data statistics and standard operation of businessprocess.
