In recent years, with the fast development of DSP technology, the researches and applications of video processing especially the real-time video processing have achieved a huge progress. Therefore, the DSP-based video processing system has made great progress in practice. The research work of this paper is in the service of Mine-visualizing rescue system, and this video processor is an important part of the system. First, not only the background of the research problem and the use state of video processing technology through the world but also the frame, characteristic and model of traditional special and universal image processing system are discussed in the dissertation. After analyzing the characters of DSPs chip and DSP system, at the same time describing the configuration of TMS320C6211B in detail, the dissertation introduces a universal image processing system based on the TMS320C6211B of TI Company. TMS320C6211B is a kind of high-powered fixed-point digital signal processor produced by TI, and it has powerful hard structure, soft system and high computing speed of 150MHz, so we use it for the image acquisition, processing and display. Whereas the circumstances, the video image processing is presented that the TMS320C6211B works as the central processor to process the images, the video input processor performs image acquisition and the CPLD is used for finishing scheduling. Then circuit schematics and print circuit boards are designed. The thesis expatiates on the designed process of the system. The acquired images of the system are stored in the FIFOs. If one frame is finished, an interrupt signal will be sent to DSP. Then DSP reads these data and processes them rapidly, and then put them to de interface of the Ethernet. The system designed in the dissertation is a facility and portable video processing system, which can process the digital signal of various images. During the dissertation introduces the design about hardware and software in the system, analyzes each function module of the system including its design technology and the method of realization in details. The procedure and implement of the system software are discussed, simultaneously the design tools MAX+PLUS II and CCS are talked in the dissertation. After the design about hardware and software, the system has been tested and debugged. Finally, it proves that the system is powerful and efficient, and can be used in many fields. The dissertation summarizes the productions of the system, and tables proposals for strengthening the system.
