Research And Implement Of NGN's Charging System

The charging business of communication is the kernel problem that attract both providers of net service and consumers attention. The charging system is the most important section of communication network, it is not only reflect the net service providers' benefit but also provide the first hand researching materials of development of communicaition technology. By looking through the window of charging system we can see the developping status of communication domain, consumer's communication behavior, net service provider's serving ability etc. In the future the communication technology will be greatly progressed and there will be a lot of new communication services can be provided, the competition between service providers will be more and more drastically. The charging system will be play a wondrously role in this none smoke war.NGN can provide richer services than PSTN and can inosculate many networks. Because the manner of implementing the service is different from the manner of PSTN so we need design a new charing system instead of PSTN's charging system for adapting the development of NGN.The results of study and main contents in the thesis are given as follows:1. The research about application scenes , the functions and the demands as well as the future need to develop of the Billing system of SoftSwitch, and compare SoftSwitch's Billing system with PSTN's to find out the same points and different points about their. So we can make use of the advantages of PSTN's Billing system farthest.2. Complete the whole Billing system's software designing and realization whit colleagues under hard work. Including the logic system design, compartmentalize the sub functions and modules, realization the transmission mechanism between SoftS wtich and Charging Gate Way. And I complete the Immediate Charging function and Compress Bill Pool function solitarily.The structure of the thesis is given as follows:Background of SoftSwitch technology, the actual status of domestic or overseas and the application foreground of Billing system are mainly introduced in the chapter 1.1 introduced the principle and history of SoftSwitch's development in the future in the chapter 2. In the chapter 3, I thoroughly analyzed the principle of modern communication billing system and introduced with emphasis the fixed network's. I discussed the application scenes , functions and the demands as well as the future need to develop of Billing and I provide the logic framework and function modules of this system in the chapter 4. In the chapter 5,1 particularly introduced the solution of Billing system,especially my effort includes the software designing and realization of each billing sub functions. In the chapter 6,1 also introduced the designing and realization of save mechanism and transmit mechanism of bills.At the end of this thesis, the entire work is summarized, which points out that the Billing system, even though it can supports most kinds of services now but it has lots of flaws and need consummatting unceasingly. Some suggestions were given out to further research and develop the Billing technology.
