Research On IETM System Technology Based On The S1000D Specification

Along with the fast development of science and technology, the large equipments become more and more complex. In each life-cycle stage of the equipment include develop, design, production, usage, maintenance etc, there will be more information data to be transferred or used. The traditional paper-based manual's usage and management mode has time-consuming, laborious, time-lapse limitations, and can't satisfy with the modern complex equipments. As the core technology of implementing CALS strategy, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) can provide real-time, high-efficiency technical guidance and information support for the maintainer, and plays more and more important role on improving the logistics guarantee level of equipment system. Thus, building an IETM system that is advanced, open structure, meet the need of complex equipment that used now and in future is important for shortening repair time, improving the equipment maintainance efficiency.After read and analyzed lots of home and abroad literatures, this paper expounded the background, development, relevant technic about CALS and IETM roundly;put forward that using the international specification ASD/AIA S1000D to create the IETM.;and designed the IETM system, developed the prototype system. The main research work and innovative contributions of this thesis are as the following:Firstly, the CALS strategy, which is mainly carried out by many countries in recent years, is introduced. Then analyzed and explained the IETM which is the core technology for carrying out CALS stategy. Discussed the IETM position in CALS, and introduced the IETM development and classes' status.Secondly, demonstrated the necessary of IETM standardization;analyzed the IETM standard system, and its development trend;studied the IETM data depiction method, and the web-based IETM architecture;suggested the IETM standardization principle in our country;put forward that using the international specification ASD/AIA S1000D to create the IETM.Thirdly, after studied the ASD/AIA S1000D specification's methodology and thecore concept in detail, this paper put forward the IETM information flow based S1000D specification and designed an opening IETM system structure according to the flow, then divided the IETM system into subsystems by function, after that detailedly researched every subsystem's difficulty and achieving methods.Finally, developed the CSDB management prototype subsystem then use this prototype system and other COTS (Commercial Off-the-shelf) software assembled an IETM system to validate the IETM information flow, system structure, and the system partition.
