In recent years, embedded system has been widely used as the computer technology develops. But there are more demanding requirements on embedded system. The Graphic User Interface (GUI) of the embedded system is very important now. The users would like to use the good GUI of embedded system which can give them convenience and comfortableness.There are many embedded GUI systems in use now, which have different advantages and disadvantages. It simulates Windows GUI and is composed of SmartGDI, Windowing System and Messaging System. The SmartGUI system saves great system resources and has high efficiency which meets embedded system's demands. With introduced in detail, the system is compared with other embedded GUI system.SmartGUI system has been used on Windows System, Linux System, Qtopia Embedded platform, X11 Embedded platform. It gives good performance until now.
