The rapid development of the computer and network technology have imposed new challenges for the traditional education measures, teaching method, testing method and teaching environment, The educator starts to consider and implement brand-new and three-dimensional teaching environment and the education platform without the spatial and time limitation based on this school network resources. Under the guidance of the theory of constructivism, the educational institution with certain conditions have gradually introduced their own the on-line selecting courses system, the on-line learning system, the on-line Q/A system and the on-line testing system and so on.In order to impel the test method reform and speed up the modernization of inspection method, according to the teaching actual demand, we successfully analyze, design and develop distributional multilayered-mix model network testing system based on the Java technology by the engineering software development pattern, the UML as the model language and using ROSE this CASE tool. This article mainly elaborates the design thought, the principle of work, the system structure, the main technical method and its the realization method of on-line testing system.This system is composed of the test application subsystem and the test management subsystem. The test application subsystem is mainly used in the student on-line testing;the test management subsystem is mainly to render the assistance of teachers to complete the corresponding supervisory work for tests.The systems analysis and design completely adopt the object-oriented software development technology. The system realization adopts the pattern technology to complete the detailed design.Considering the security and extensively of test environment, the test application subsystem carries on the design and the development by adopting three frameworks, provides the applied server as the platform of data and the customer interface, completes the data processing. However, the test management subsystem uses two frameworks for the purpose of simplifying the steps of development and enhancing the efficiency of processing.
