The Research On Code Technology Application In Several Fields

Code technology application in several fields is studied in this paper, and these fields are mainly formed of paper currency number recognition, vehicle plate location and water meter recognition. Meanwhile the program corresponding to each field is developed, and it can be applied practically.The numbers on the paper currency is the amount identifier of the paper currency issuance, each sheet has its own numbers and the same numbers haven't be used twice, so the numbers on it can identify paper currency's identity. If the number is recognized and recorded with binding by the system, then crime will be restrained effectively. According to the demand of recognition, this paper develops two algorithms basing on the code's structure and characteristic points.The function of plate location step is to find the position of plate in a single digital image, and it guarantees the correct results of subsequent steps of character segmentation and recognition. So it directly affects the final recognition ratio to the whole system. However, when the size of plate is changed greatly in the image, the ratio is low. At the same time, slant rectification is a big problem to the system. As the density of vertical edge in plate is uniform, block segmentation is applied to obtain the candidate plate region, and it also can locate plate by different size. For those slant images, the FFT technology is utilized to rectify, and the result is more fast and accuracy.In the other fields of code technology application, such as water meter number recognition, it is very convenient to record the amount of water used automatically by the means of digital image process. This paper enumerates all the cases that may occur, and then matches these codes.The experimental results show that these algorithms have achieved much better effects, and can be applied practically in these fields.
