Code division multiple access (CDMA) has received a great deal of attention asan access method for the third-generation mobile communication systems. Ininterference limited CDMA systems, good interference handling radio resourceallocation schemes play the key role to enhance the performance of the systems. Oneof the important composing part for optimal resource management is Call admissioncontrol(CAC). In the condition of limited resource, an efficient CAC arithmetic isessential to provide QoS guarantees of different services to enhance the utilization ofradioresource.In This paper, firstly I summarize the basic conception and the characteristic ofCDMA systems. Then I introduce in detail the radio resource management of CDMAsystems and its important composing part contained power control, handoff control,call admission control, packet scheduling, and load control; in this partI bring forwardthe theme of this paper-CAC. Then the focus is CAC arithmetic. Firstly, I introducesome representative CAC arithmetic in mobile communication networks and somecommonCAC arithmetic in CDMAsystems. These arithmetichavetheir own differentcharacters, and a practical CAC needs consider all kinds of factors synthetically. So,inthe base of the above arithmetic, I put forward two improved arithmetic which are aimproved CAC arithmetic bases on MBGC and a new CAC arithmetic bases on GoS,Consideringsoft capacitycharacteristicofCDMAsystems, intheend, Iproposeakindof arithmetic based on different interference thresholds, which gives the differentinterference thresholds aimed at the different Services. Then a kind of amelioratedarithmeticissummarizedtocombineQueuingSchemes.Through the analyze of the simulation with matlab, the CAC arithmetic bases onMBGC and the CACarithmetic bases on GoS can be indicated to improve the systemperformance in mobile communication network, and their ideas can use for referenceto CDMA systems. At the same time, the arithmetic based on different interferencethresholds not only materializes interference limited character of CDMA systems, butcanbesatisfiedtheintegrated performanceofCDMAsystems comparedwiththe fixedCAC arithmetic.
