With development of modern science and technology, industry technology and national defense technology, detected objects become more and more complex, distributive area becomes wider and wider, integrated analyses to each kind of information become more and more important. Because of a higher requirement for the structure of detection instrument system, distributive detection instrument systems can be applied in many fields. Rapid, convenient and remote communications are very important to the design of distributive detection instrument systems. With the development of modern network and communication technology, network instruments become a good selection for distributed detection instrument system. Since the network communication of distributive detection instrument system is different from civil and business computer networks, different detection instrument systems may have different requirements for the network communication.This paper introduces the principle and system structure of modern computer network, especially introduces some key protocols of universal TCP/IP standard. By analyzing functions and traits of these protocols, it selects the protocols which are used in the detection instrument system of the distributive pipe network, and designs the software of the detection instrument system. Base on needs of practical application, this paper mainly resolves real-time transmission problem, discusses the synchronization error between data acquisition units and introduces the improved methods.In the distributive data acquisition system, synchronization errors not only include initial synchronization error which comes from the process of data acquisition instruction from sending to executing, but also include the accumulated synchronization error because of the real sampling rate difference between data acquisition units. Based on the transmission process of data acquisition instruction, this paper analyzes the initial synchronization error sources resulted from sending, transmission and executing, then introduces methods for reducing the initial synchronization error, such as sending in broadcast, simplifying network protocols and selecting hardware and so on. For the accumulated synchronization error in the long sampling time, changing initial value of the counter and paragraphing data acquisition can reduce the error.
