| Since been manufactured in 1959, integrated circuits have experienced a dramatic development. Nowadays, IC becomes literally the foundation of our digital world, many important technologies, such as, computers, communications, internet, manufacturing and transport systems, are based on the development of IC.In the paper, we will focus on the digital module backend design, which is one of important application fields of IC. The paper is composed by three parts; we'll introduce the background of IC design in the first part, which also covers the developing in domestic and foreign industry; the whole flow of digital IC backend design will be presented detailed in the second part; the last part will summarize the paper, as well as discuss the future work.The following backend design process will be discussed in detail in the paper.1. Design Setup: Create design library that is platform for design.2. Timing Setup: Load SDC(Synopsys Design Constraint) file. Define timing analysis options.3. Floorplan: It is very important to plan the power domain, place Macro cell.4. Placement: Place the standard cell with timing, power, congestion and etc.5. CTS: Synthesis clock tree and balance each synchronous port.6. Route: The final step of the whole design, each cell in design is connected by net.7. Physical Verification includes DRC, Antenna, LVS. |
