Along with the arrival of the multimedia information times, the audio players have already come into the Internet, the broadcast, the individual consumption electron, the digital film and television, the automobile electron and so on. People pay more attention to the performance, price, convenience and interface characteristic of the players. Considering the above characteristics, this paper focuses on studying and designing a new kind of OEM audio player module, which is low cost, interface open and convenient to be inserted into all kinds of application system, so that the application of the audio players will be more widespread.A new kind of audio compression/decompression way (J2A) is selected in the audio player module of this paper, so we confine it as the J2A Audio Player. The paper detailedly describes the hardware design, the software design flow and the essential technology used in the J2A Audio Player. And it gives the complete process of design and realization of the player according to the way of the whole construction design, the hardware equipment selection, the hardware circuit design, the electric circuit board layout, the software design, the player performance test. In the realization method of the player, the paper divides the entire functions of the player into various stature function modules by modular division method and then make them realize respectively, including the recording module, the audio compression/decompression module, the audio player module, the U plate storage module and the FAT16 document system module.First, the paper describes the working principle, the constitution, the whole construction and the design goal of the J2A Audio Player, and it explain some essential technology used in J2A. Then, the paper pays more attention to the design of the software and hardware. The hardware design includes the hardware equipment selection, the design of the MCU control circuit, the USB communication electric circuit, the audio player circuit, the Flash storage circuit, the power source management circuit and so on. The software design includes the realization code of the audio chip compression/decompression function, the use of the USB interface and the Mass - Storage protocol to realize the U plate function and the FAT16 document system and so on. Then, the paper gives the function test of the J2A Audio Player. In the last, the paper describes Assembly Code Generation—a tool used in the design process, and detailedly describes its use, core thought, realization and application method.The main contributions in this thesis are:1. Use a new chip to design J2A Audio Player and give the complete detail of the software and hardware designs.2. The audio player has the characteristic of interface open, so it can be conveniently integrated into other applications, providing a high price ratio OEM audio module for embedded system applications.3.
