| This paper analyzes and compares the similarities and differences of IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, introduces characters and technical criterions of IPv6 new protocol, and emphasize on the transition problems from IPv4 to IPv6. It makes the emphasis on analyzing several kinds of relatively mature technologies: Dual Stack, Tunnel Technology, and Network Address Protocol Transition. In the late-transition, IPv4 addresses that can be used effectively are less, and Network Address Protocol Transition will play a key role. So we stresses the test and analysis on NAT-PT, based on which designs and realizes a transition technology based on translation gateway. Translation gateway is spanned on the routers of network border routers, and transfers protocols for interaction information from different protocol domains, including IP, transmission layer and application layer.Finally, based on the fact that most of colleges have accessed China Education and Research Network (CERNET), coexistence and transition schemas for IPv4 campus network and IPv6 network are presented. |
