Key Technologies Research Of Intelligence Home Gateway Design

Home network is a new technology that integrates personal computer, information appliance, water meter, electricity meter, gas meter, lighting system, safety-alarm system in whole house and communities to WAN.There are so many disadvantages in the proposal of home network at present, such as disposing line inconveniently, expending too much, unstabilized transmission capability, low-data rate digital transmission. How to make a home network that has high intelligent control, high-speed accessing to Internet, high-data rate digital transmission within home and simple usage is where the shoe pinches of development of home network. It makes us to introduce home gateway that is a key concept of home network to realize functions we need. A new home gateway proposal that consists of Ethernet, WLAN (Wireless local area network) AP and ADSL (Asymmetric DiSital Subscriber Line) accessing to Internet is presented based on it.Network connecting technology within home is the basis of home network connecting with each other and intelligent control. In this thesis network-connecting technology is the primary researching part that integrated in home gateway. By reason of low-data rate transmission of WLAN and more interference in the indoor multipath fatling channels, OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), which is an optional PHY transmission scheme in high data rate WLAN as the protocol of IEEE802.11 family is analyzed, anti-interference performance of OFDM in the indoor multipath fatling channels is researched. Equalization is an effective technique to reduce the interference brought by multipath and two kinds of equalizers are researched and simulated to compare their improvement in BER performance.Finally, in this thesis, the limit state model and the node model of the home gateway that integrate OFDM are constructed and simulated with OPNET. The simulation result indicates that home gateway that integrates ADSL technology and OFDM can improve transmission data rate and reduce the interference brought by multipath.
