This project will design a video processing chip for analog TFT-LCD. The description in this thesis contains three parts: processing of input signals, video enhancement ,and the interface to TFT-LCD. More details as below:In the input part, the chip can receive six kinds of input signals, divide horizontal and vertical synchronization, and get clock signal with the same phase of video data. Clamp controlling is done to get better effect by simple circuit. At the same time, both of ITU656 and ITU601's decoders are completed. After the verification of FPGA, horizontal phase locked circuit and clamp circuit can work steady; decoders of ITU656 and ITU601 can get correct pictures too.In the video process chapter, some researches on DCTI(digital color transient improvement),DLTI(digital luminance transient improvement), PEAKING(luminance peaking), BLE(black-level enhancement), WLE(white-level enhancement), brightness, hue, contrast and saturation adjustment were done, and then the hardware circuit was designed. The results of the HDL simulation and FPGA verification showed that the image quality is improved greatly.In the third important part, video scalar and gamma correcting are needed before displaying in the TFT-LCD. The universal interface to analog TFT-LCD is described in the end of the theory.
