Research On Algorithm Of Robust Camera Motion Estimator In MPEG-2 Domain

Nowdays, as fast increasing of information, how to retrieve information fastly and correctly are gained much more attention. As one important part of multimedia information, video information is mostly stored in compressed format, for faster retrieval, it is more expected to develop an algrithom to extract motion feature directly from compressed domain. Camera motion reflects the global motion information of video, so it is very meanful to research the camera motion estimating algrithom in compressed domain directly.This paper firstly introduced the significance and the background of researching on video retrieval technique, on the following the researching status and major technologies used. Then the basic theory of camera motion estimator is introduced, and we introduced some traditional estimator algrithoms in compressed domain and analyze the performances and disadvantages in them.And then, an algorithm about camera motion estimator based on ASRC (Adaptive-Scale Residual Consensus) estimator in MPEG-2 compressed domain is developed in this paper.
