With the development of network and wide application of embedded system,traditional control technology based on bus will move along the road toward networking too.Because Ethernet has character of global opening,use extensive,cheap, supporting of software and hardware in the world, abundant shared resource,because the research that controls about Ethernet in the world at present has just begun again, disparity is very small,so, it is propitious to develop the independence of intellectual property right,to reduce the dependence on exclusive bus,to form the fair market competitive environment.It has very great scientific research and economic meaning.In this paper,the evolution of industriy's control system is firstly discussed.Then,not only analysis of the advantage of control system based on Ethernet and foreground of embedded Ethernet but also history and cmoposing and performance of Ethernet technology is discussed.Secondly, the advancement of embedded system hardware and the advantage of using 32bits embedded microprocessor and the selection of embedded system CPU are intruduced. Based on the introduction,this paper take the design of the embedded system hardware.The character of embedded operation system especiallyμClinux and the necessary of using embedded operation system are analysed. The method to debug embedded system——serial monitor, and the software-developing mode under theμClinux environment is described in detail as well.Subsequently,the software design of the control interface system was introduced,including the serial and socket communication software design underμClinux environment,the method to store date in flash memory using JFFS file system,the realization of embedded web server and embedded e-mail system.Finally, a conclusion is given and the direction for the future research is put forword.
