Wireless communication technology gains a wide use in Electric Power System. Mobitex, as a kind of matured advanced wireless communication method, has achieved a popular use in the management of the power Distribution Automatization (DA) system., such as data collection of the transformer, meter reading, preventing power purloined and analyse of the wastage of power line.This paper briefly introduces the Mobitex technology theory and its applications in electric power system, mainly talks about the design of Mobitex multifunctional terminal taking use of the center microcontroller ARM7 and special IC, in which the RF receiving and transmittion, modulating and demodulating, protocol analyse,data collection, remote control,meter reading are implemented.The high integration of the wireless communication and the power data collection makes the terminal low cost.The hardware design completes the RF circuit, modulating and demodulating and the interface circuit ;the software completes the baseband disposal ,the protocol of wireless communication and the application protocol such as DLT\645. The circuit is simple which which makes the terminal low powe and the requirement of the Mobitex network is satisfied.Software meet the power application.The Mobitex integrative terminal is high integrated and reliable which makes market application popular.
