| Today, the fantastic development of the electronic technology is bringing forward higher request for frequency synthesizer. All frequency synthesizers with low phase noise, highly pure spectrum and fast frequency jump speed have dominating development direction of the frequency synthesis technology.Fractional-N phase locked loop (FNPLL) frequency synthesis has been appeared in recent years. It has the advantage of high frequency resolution and low phase noise when compared with traditional Integer-N phase locked loop (NPLL) frequency synthesis. But this excellent technology has not been used widely in practice. The task does a technical innovation of the frequency synthesis equipment in a kind of wireless communication system. The old frequency synthesis equipment is made up of DDS+PLL style. The circuits are complex, and the price is high. Now we plan to use the fractional synthesis equipment to replace the old.In this paper the author introduce the basic theory of phase locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer technology, and discusses the theory and implement of FNPLL frequency synthesizer.
