Study And Development Of Configuration Software Based On COM Component

Configuration software is more and more popular in the industry control field. It includes some completed and common controls, which can be used by programmers. Like playing bricks, it is easy to get the final software product by putting the controls together. This characteristic of configuration software can reduce much work and time of software developing. From this characteristic we can know, if we make use of COM to develop configuration software, it will be good for commonality and extensibility. Through the mending of the data-manage module, it's more convenient to develop software with COM.The existing configuration software is not very good in data querying. At present, some software uses database system to make up for the defect. Although it increases the efficiency, but it also has some problems: it makes the setup program bigger; it makes the start of configuration software system more slowly, because it has to start database system first; it is a waste of database, because many functions of database system do not be needed at all. In order to solve the problem, the thesis gets a new design to integrate the characteristic of configuration software and the theory of index in database. The practice proves that, it increases the efficiency, and has no such disadvantage.The paper also explains the method of developing the data-manage module with COM technology, and introduces the method of making the configuration software to get high extensibility: using component container.
