The next generation of wireless communication is meant to transmit mobile multimedia services with high speed and high performance. A new transmission technique called GMC-xDMA-TDD (Generalized Multi-Carrier Time Division Duplex x-Division Multiple Access) is proposed by SEU to support high efficient packet data transmission with peak data rate not less than 20Mbps. The synchronization technology is studied in the paper in detail.Before description of our detailed synchronization scheme, the principle and digital implementation technique of synchronization in digital communication system is dicussed in chapter 2.Then, a thorough description of the synchronization process and synchronization algorithm of the GMC-xDMA-TDD, named 2D energy window synchronization scheme based on interpoloation is presented in chapter 3. The effect of frequency-shift imposed on the performance of synchronization is also discussed.Finally the FPGA implementation of the synchronization is introduced.
