The Three-dimensional N.C. Machining Process Planning (3D-NCMPP) that is discussed in this paper includes the Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) and the Machining Process Planning (MPP). From the view point of engineering application, emphasizes on studying three technical aspects: flow of 3D-NCMPP, establishment of the In-Process Model (IPM) and output of process documents. On condition that keeping the logical order of activities between CAPP and MPP, the 3D-NCMPP reorganized some repeated steps such as: choosing the fixed planes for clamp, setting the machining parameters and equipment. Consequently, puts forward the new 3D-NCMPP flow chart which is based on theory of the Lean production (LP) and the Concurrent Engineering (CE).Modeling the IPM is the key step of this new 3D-NCMPP flow. Under DELMIA (Digital Engineering Lean Manufacturing Integrated Application) software environment, this paper emphasizes that the manufacturing feature could be defined by setting the manufacturing operation, establishes the IPM by way of holomorphy boolean subtraction between blank model and manufacturing feature, and gives the examples. The IPMS are shared by CAPP and MPP.The accomplishment of the 3D-NCMPP should be reflected by process documents. Second development could promote the application value of the software effectively. DELMIA software did not export manufacturing documents which is suitable for the factual situation of Chinese enterprise. This paper uses VBA (Visual Basic for Application) as program language, adopts in-process macro based on interfaces documentation of CAA (Component Application Architecture) in DELMIA environment, and realizes automatic output of the process attribute data as the Excel file format through calling the Excel automation server object.
