In recent years, digital watermarking rises as a novel technique in information security. It can be extensively used in many fields such as multimedia copyright protection and subject authority. More and more people pay close attention to it, though it is not a long time since its appearance.The most researches of digital watermarking are realized by software now. The weakness is that it can' t satisfy the real-time processing requirement. It is also easy to be break because of the development of hacker technique. In order to improve the processing speed and to heighten the reliability, we use hardware to implement the image digital watermarking algorithm. It has important meaning and it is the originality of the paper.We design and implement the image digital watermarking scheme of lifting wavelet transform based on Verilog HDL language and design the IP core of it in this paper. It can improve the speed of embedding and extract image digital watermarking.The major content of this paper is consisted of:1, Expounding the development of digital watermarking and the theory of lifting wavelet.2, Designing the hardware structural of lifting discrete wavelet transform. The lifting discrete wavelet transform is the key algorithm of the digital watermarking scheme. The time of the digital watermarking scheme is determined by the rate of transform. Firstly, we analysis the lifting discrete wavelet transform, design the architecture of it by flowing water method. Then we design the hardware structural of lifting discrete wavelet transform using Verilog HDL language and simulate it.3, Designing IP core of digital watermarking scheme. First, we design the method of embedding of digital water- marking. Then, we design a kind of digital watermarking sequence which is m sequence.4, Simulating the algorithm of lifting discrete wavelet transform by Matlab, and comparison the result by hardware, to verify the correctness of design of lifting discrete wavelet transform by and embedding of digital watermarking.
