| The understanding of pulse in TCM clinical pulse diagnosis is mainly based on experience of doctors. To understand and differentiate the definition of pulse are different. As the development of detection technology, more and more researchers apply detection technology to pulse detection, achieving the objectivity and modernization of pulse diagnosis of TCM. Many researchers' researches of pulse diagnosis and analysis stay in the quantity analysis, neglecting the essence of pulse, which undermines the reliability of pulse identification. In this thesis, based on Extension Detection technology and methods of Extension Set, we propose a new way which applies to the research of pulse character relation analysis and transformation. It transforms the pulse character into high-precision detectable matter-element or property function presentation. It is of great help to the pulse diagnosis and pulse identification. The aim of this thesis is to make pulse informantion to be derectly judged by the detectable characters. This thesis mainly solves tow problems: use a series of detectable characters to represent those undetectable characters of pulse matter-element on the basis of the analysis of the relationship of the Pulse information, so as to get the pulse information from the value of the undetectable characters; answers the relativity problems neglected in traditional pulse dignosis. Pulse information is divided into four aspects: Position of Pulse, Amount of Pulse, Tendency of Pulse and Shape of Pulse. All pulses are regarded as different combinations of these four characters. The organization of this thesis is as follows: Chapter 1 introduces the function, status, and status quo of Extension, Extension Detection, Pulse Theory and Pulse Detection Analysis. Chapter 2 introduces the basic methods of Extension. Chapter 3 introduces the basic theory of Extensic Detection. Chapter 4 introduces the idea of analysis and the method of the research. Chapter 5 discusses the analysis and transformation of characters of the Shape of Pulse and the Amount of Pulse. Chapter 6 discusses the analysis and transformation of characters of the Tendency of Pulse and the Shape of Pulse. Chapter 7 discusses an example of the Pulse.Due to limited experience, ability and time of the author, the theoretical analysis inevitably contains careless omissions and problems.
