With the development and application of embedded system technology and GPRS network technique, Remote Data Acquisition Terminal which combines two kinds of advantages well is being researched and exploited ceaselessly. Under this background, the thesis does research and realization about remote data acquisition terminal for GPRS based on ARM through colligating present one's merits and shortcomings.The ternimal can work in GPRS or INTERNET method. The terminal collects user terminal service'data information by RS-232 or A/D and uploads the data to remote control centre by GPRS and internet network,sequentially realize remote data transmission function.The terminal may be applicated widely in multiplicate fields including environmental protection.The paper does the following research work mainly:1.Accomplished peripheric hardware resource's expansion, S3C44B0X microprocessor has demanding minimum hardware resource such as peripheric memery, LCD,keyboard, network card,GPRS module.2. Using multi-task operating system may effectively organize and handle parallel tasks,so the thesis transplantμc/os-II operating into the terminal and promote its scheduling mechanism.As a result the scheduling mechanism satisfes the actual demandings.3. The correspondence between GPRS terminal and INTERNET must have some related TCP/IP protocals.The paper realizes and simples these network protocals.And the paper realizes two method's4. In order that let the terminal had good human-computer interaction function,the thesis establish a graphical interfaces and design LCD's hardware interface and the keyboard's input function.In conclusion,the paper accomplishes the design work for Remote Data Acquisition Terminal based on ARM embedded platform which is real-time and reliable and which function is well-found.
