| At present, the application of PLL to industry is found in many fields,such as digital TV tuner. The tuner, who employed the PLL as the basictechnology has higher stability and wider frequency tuning range comparedwith the outdated television tuner. In this work, the PLL and itsprogrammable divider were researched and summarized due to its greatapplication value on the basis of other' s fruits. Overall, this paperis arranged as follows:First of all, a background introduction of digital television isintroduced followed by the present development of PLL and programmabledivider.Secondly, the analysis of basic operation principle of PLL and maincapability are given. Then the parameters of PLL are discussed deeply.Subsequently, the relation between the capability of PLL and loop filteris analyzed along with the main structures and actualization methods ofPLL, the analog technique of cell structure of programmable divider. Atlast expounded the disadvantages and advantages of these analogtechniques though the detailed compare, while the application field ofeach technique is recommended.Thirdly, the parameters of PLL are ascertained by the models accordingto the total design task and the selected concrete topological circuitstructure. Then the parameters and capability of PLL was optimized bysimulating the actual behavior model, which is programmed by Verilog-Alanguage. Through the simulation, the performance indexes are receivedand then the parameters of corresponding modules are given.Fourthly, a new topological structure of the programmable dividercircuit is designed using the TSPC cell structure according to the demands of system. Then the layout of the circuit is given. The results ofsimulations attain system demand. This design is using SMIC 0.18um CMOSprocess.At the end, summaries of above work and suggestions for future workare presented. |
