With the increasingly progressing of the Telecommunications technology and Internet technology, the open Next Generation Network (NGN), which is based on the convergence of the heterogeneous networks of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), Internet, and Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) that can provide multimedia and mobile integrated services, has become a focus of the international and internal Telecom and Internet sectors. To provide the multimedia value-added services in NGN, we usually utilize the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and the Parlay API criterion. And to provide the traditionally supplementary services, we often implement them in the interior of the Softswitch Controller (SSC).The integrated services which based on multi-party and multimedia have become increasingly mature, simultaneously, new supplementary services come forth increasingly, and also there is a value-added trend to provide the supplementary services. So it is of great need to research the trends of the value-added supplementary services. The main contributions are as follows:1. A "value-added" Supplementary Service Provision platform.Based on the concept of providing the supplementary services in a value-added way, this paper decoupled the supplementary services from the Call Control (CC) model in Softswitch Controller (SSC) in an innovatory way, and proposed a light-weight Supplementary Service Provision platform to enable the service-load, service-unload, service-activate, service-deactivate, and service-update. By this platform, developing and managing value-added services and supplementary services will be more agilely.2. A Parlay-Plus Interface that enhanced the Parlay API criterion. In this paper, an enhanced service interface (i.e. the Parlay-Plus interface) is proposed according to the requirements of NGN Service Provision methods analysis. The Parlay-Plus interface inherits the Multi-Party Call Control SCF (MPCC), the Multimedia Call Control SCF (MMCC), and the Conference Call Control SCF (CCC) of Parlay API criterion. Simultaneity, it refactorings the User Interaction SCF (UI), and also proposes a new concept of multimedia control party (i.e. M-Leg), which provides a more conveniently controlled Multi-Party and Multimedia Service interface. Also, the Parlay-Plus interface has enhanced the trigger criterion part in Parlay so that the provision of the supplementary services will be much more convenient.3. A Service Logic Execution Environment based on a micro-kernel.The Service Logic Execution Environment (SLEE) in the Telecom Application Server (AS), usually coupled with the Service Management Environment (SME), which made the functions of SLEE were too obese, whose stability and maintainability had been weakened. Therefore, this paper proposed a concept of a micro-kernel SLEE, and decoupled the complex service management functions and the Operation and Management (OAM) from SLEE, so that the SLEE can contribute on the core function of service container.4. A Service Management model based on ISME/mSSI/nSDI model. In this paper, a new service management model based on 1SME (Service Management Environment) /mSSI (Service Static Instance) /nSDI (Service Dynamic Instance) is proposed.
