| Instant communication allow people to send message of text formatting, which bases on internet technology, and such message would be sent instantly. Many websites have fall over themselves for using instant communication software, develop instant website have been a trend. SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol, which has been developed and designed within the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). As a signaling protocol, SIP is applied in the field of instant communication over the IP networks mainly, especially in the internet network environment. Because of its advantage such as simplicity, agility, distributing control, high expansibility and easy to be applied, SIP is becoming an important protocol in next generation networks and the field of 3G multimedia. 3GPP had confirmed SIP the main signaling control protocol in multimedia domain. IETF publish the standard of instant message mechanism in SIP in Sept. 2002.Now IETE make great efforts to perfect the research and standard. SIP is applied to instant communication is becoming a hot spot. Therefore the research to realize the instant communication service, such as SMS, MMS which base on SIP is significance to accelerate the realization multimedia communication, supplying multi-increment operation service, such as mobile position service, and is also significance to accelerate the compatibility and interworking for different software of instant message system.Under this background and base on some foreign and domestic references, this paper introduces the technological feature and principle of SIP, and analyses the instant message mechanism. Base on the SIP technology, the instant communication solution of intranal enterprise network has been developed, which include the functions of login/logout, instant message, online status and net conference. Finally, the advantages and defects in the application of instant communication system with SIP technology, and what need to be improved in future research are pointed out. |
