Based on embedded computer, the embedded system becomes the newdeveloping trend in the IT field at the tail of network. Having characteristics of littlevolume, high performance, low power consumption and reliability, embeddedsystem has been widely used in many field such as national defense, consumerelectronic products, network communication and industry control, etc. Theapplication of 32bit micro controller units and embedded operation system arerepresentative in these fields.This paper gives an example——Welding seam tracking system based onembedded real-time operation systemμC/OS-Ⅱand 32-bit ARM microprocessor.The welding seam tracking system is aiming at making arc robot can immediatelyidentify the welding seam as well as seam tracking when the deviation occurs, so asto improve the intelligence of the arc robot.Firstly, the paper introduces the operational principle of 32bit ARM controller.Then, it introduces the operational principle of embedded real-time operation systemand the processing principle of welding seam signal. In this foundation, the paperdesigns the hardware electric of welding seam tracking system of arc welding robot.Finally, finishes transplant work of embedded operation systemμC/OS-ⅡonS3C44B0X and control sofeware programming and testing which can meet thedemand of control.Finally, the paper has analyzed deficiency of the system existence and proposedfurther work direction.
