This paper develops the system Terrain facing low-altitude flight and penetration by appling the 3D visualization technology. Among them, the research focus of this paper includes Terrain Rendering Algorithm (LOD), terrain texture details, multi-window display quality improvement and flight routes setting and et al.Firstly, the paper introduces the significance of the theories studied, rendering engine OpenGL, the new functions of Terrain and innovations of this paper. Then, the second chapter describes the basis of the application Terrain including basic concepts of 3D computer graphics, programming Language, 3D animation technology in Windows and so on.The third chapter presents the representation of 3D solid modeling, the hierarchical structure of 3D solid and the basic principle of 3D modeling, and gives the 3D terrain generation algorithm and LOD terrain accelerated rendering algorithm. The keys of LOD are how to establish a rational evaluation system for nodes, how to render grids and how to design for reduction. The experiment shows that this algorithm can greatly reduce the numbers of rendering grid.The technology about texture details is one of discussing emphasis in this paper, and is described in detail in Chapter 4. This chapter first introduces the basic knowledge of the texture mapping, setting for texture environment and the access of texture block data and etc, then emphasizes to recommend the design process of them to generate texture details, therefore shows the 3D terrain of these textures.Finally, the fifth chapter introduces the creation of the application program, and details what about initialization of the OpenGL under Windows, improvement of multi-window display quality, Terrain scheduling mechanism and setting of flight routes. Improvement of multi-window display quality is another research focus, and two processes are used to solve this problem. Meanwhile, the technologies of multi-window switch and oscilloscope display and etc are applied to improve the display effect.
