The Research On The Development Of The University Website And The Construction Of The Campus Culture

The informationization of the education in our country is developing rapidly; at the same time, universities construct their own website, which attracts more and more attention and research about the website of the university. Most of the research is focused on the main website and BBS (bulletin broadcast system) of the university. The research about the main website of the university is mainly about technology. The research about BBS is more than that about the news website. Based on the website of the university, this paper talks about the contents and characteristics of the news website and BBS of it, and their effect to the construction of the campus culture. According to the problem found during the research, some useful suggestions are given.Among all the parts of the website of the university, the news website and BBS have attracted all the students with their special advantages in broadcast. The news website has a lot of news and information; while BBS is a very good place for communication, so that both of them become the most popular parts. In certain degree, the news website and BBS are more popular and more effective than the website of the university itself, hence they are more useful in the construction of the campus culture. However, the news website and BBS also have their bad effects, especially BBS. The problem is how to construct the website of the university in a proper way and make it a good guide for the students to study and live.The first part of the paper is about the starting, the background and the meaning of this kind of research; the present research about that is also analyzed. The next part talks about the development of the university's website, including how it became popular, the meaning of its construction, and the use. Besides, the overview about the development, especially about the news website and BBS, is explained. After that, the third and the fourth parts are the main part of this paper. The third part analyzes the news website of the university. As an important part of the website of the university, it helps to transmit and build the campus culture with its special ability, way, meaning and characteristics. Moreover, the basic position and the content of the university's website are talked about; the content, characteristics, ability, and the new environment of the campus culture are put forward, so that the effect of the news website to the construction of the campus culture is analyzed. In the fourth part, as a timely representative of the campus culture, the transmitting content and characteristics of BBS are talked. What's more, the difference between the ordinary BBS and the BBS of the campus is compared. And the effect of the campus BBS to the construction of the campus culture is also analyzed. The last part is composed with the conclusions of this paper.
