With the rapid development of information technology and the application of network,the availability,reliability and data rate of storage are highly desired. Storage Area Network (SAN),a high-performance transmission protocol with low-delay,high-speed and long-distance transmission characteristics,can meet the requirements of data storage,data share,and remote data recovery,etc.Fibre Channel(FC) is the mainstream to build up Storage Area Network. The optimized fabric topology structure can reach the best performance,The Fibre Channel switch is the key device and core of fabric topology structure.In this thesis,the advantages of the SAN among the main data storage methods,and backgrounds,development,and the Fibre Channel protocol are introduced. Then the distributed processing architecture of the fibre channel switches is proposed based on the analysis of the architecture of high-speed router. Then the logic-level structure of the fibre channel switch and the logic makeup of the line card are described. The logic design including media access control (MAC) and Forwarding Engine design of the line card are achieved in FPGA. And some key modules are also illustrated in detail, with simulation results shown in this paper. During design of line card hardware,the design rules of high-speed circuits are followed.The simulation analysis of key signal lines is presented. By adjusting the layout of the PCB design,the signal of line card meets all the design requirements. Finally,We debug and analyze the circuits of Fibre Channel switch line card,The further scheme about the project are also discussed . |
