It's presented that the rationale of optimization of GSM system and means of improving the Qos for wireless network under the project of innovation for Harbin Mobile Telecommunication network. Some key marks, such as success rate of random access, call drop rate and congestion, base station optimization and etc.First, it's introduced the concepts of network optimization, many kinds of sources in network and target of optimization. It's presented those problems in networks and their solutions by analysis on network data, such as statistical data of switching equipment, field test data, interference data, base station test data and signaling data.Second, it's discussed the success rate of random access and the reason of access failure, such as BCCH/BSIC sideband interference, bad cover, power inbalance for uplink or downlink, large TA, hardware problem of reveiving path, high traffic, congestion and ghost random access. It's presented the method to improve success rate of random access by analysis of real cases.Third, it's analyased and optimized the congestion and call drop, which includes call drop rate and congestion rate of voice and signaling channel. Solutions are presented on the basis of analyisis of DT test case. Optimization performance is discussed and some parameters optimization methods are outlined too.The last, it's presented the optimization of cellular base stations and some practical cases. It's introduced the rationale of optimization of base station and techniques of cellular, planning principles, band of position and paging capacity.
