A number of semiconductor companies have been holding the video processing technology of TV sets for years. The launch of VPE1X, which was the first generation video processing chip developed by Hisense, has made it a breakthrough. The second-generation chip, HS2501, has been launched this year. It is integrated additional functions and to optimize the processing technology.According to the requirement of the markets, we have finished the application design of format converting based on the HS2501. And, the design is considered to have fulfilled all the demand of function, performance, manufacture, cost etc. The content of the paper covers it.Beginning with the background and meaning of research topic, it gave a brief introduction of the research work. Following text discussed the principle of the designated program, which referred to the requirements analysis in the most beginning. Also, it brought the system solution about debugging and validating forward. After the short presentation on the chip, the paper made a description in more details about the components choice and circuit design, also including PCB layout and so on. Then, considering the characteristic of HS2501, such as frame and format conversion, the function and setup of key registers are also referred in part of the paper. The key problem and its solution are explained by using examples. The final chapter made a summary of the whole research work.
