Along with the advancement of hardware, virtualization technology has gained widely development in chipset, system and application layer. Intel and AMD have developed a series of virtualization supported CPU. And the types of CPU can improve the performance of both CPU and memoey in virtualization environment. However, the I/O performance has sufferd a big loss when virtualizing the febric devices, as a result of the only one interface exported by modern PCI devices.I/O Virtualization is an essential component in the virtualization framework, which has great infuluence on the performance of the system. This paper first discusses the I/O virtualization framework based on performance with the test results, and then puts forward some advice to improve the performance. The down migration method is to place some of the I/O operations near physical device, and the bypass method is to decrease the times Virtual Machine Monitor concerned with in the I/O operations. The device driver domain model is to separate domain0 by driver types, and increase the I/O performance.Based on the device driver domain model, we study the characteristic of network device, propose guest domain oriented network device aggregation model(GONA), and implement the prototype. GONA can provide support in three aspects: precise granularity of the NIC resources, load balancing, and QoS.Finally, we test GONA all-around, and the results show that GONA can provide more precise network data transport support to guest domain which not only increase the performance of network data transport, but also enhance the dependability, maintainability of the system.
