The power consumption of Embedded Portable Terninal mounts with the increasing of its functions. How to supply it with reliable power is one of difficulties in the development of Embedded Portable Terminal. Aiming at realizing a Power Management System with low power-consuming, small packing and stable performace on Embedded Portable Terminal, this paper made in-depth research and analysis on Power Management Sstem which suits to Embedded Portable TerminalFirstly, the paper introduced the importance of the Power Management System on Embedded Portable Terminal. Secondly, the basic theories of three power regulator circuits widely-used in power management system have been discussed and the key problems in the application of these three circuits have been analysed. And then, power demand on Embedded Portable Terminal and the methods of low-power design are analysed, based on which, the overall framework of Power Management System is proposed, Finally, the paper introduced in detail the realization of thress sub-modules in Power Management System. The result of practical test indicates that the design meets the demand of Embedded Portable Terminal and provides a good resolution for the power system on embedded protable terminal because the latest power management technique is applied.
