| The embedded system is more and more widely used in electronic area because of the feature of high integration,high performance,high speed,low cost and stability. Especially with the rapid development of the multimedia and the network, the remote video surveillance system was also applied widely. Being through the stages of the local simulation signal surveillance system,PC card-based digital surveillance system and the network digital surveillance system based on embedded technique, video surveillance system is heading to a tendency that anterior integration,video digitalized,monitor networked,system integrated. So the development direction of the video monitor system is that using embedded equipment as front surveillance system, transforming analog signal into digital signal, and proceeding network surveillance in any time and anywhere with the introduction of TCP/IP.Applying technique of the embedded and the MPEG4 standard video terminal as the core, it is proposed that a video solution of microcontroller based ARM-core plus professional encoding chip and net module, which is based on embedded microcontroller S3C44BOX and its hardware platform, then the design of the initial program load of which is expatiated. The characteristics of real-time operation systemμc/os-II, the mechanism of its task management, task communication and memory management are analyzed. The process ofμc/os- II trsplantting to S3C44B0X is studied in detail. The characteristic of a embedded TCP/IP stack-LwIP is described in detail, including its mechanism of memory management,work flow and the network interface. In the end, the realization method of porting LwIP toμc/os- II is given, and the network connection of embedded system is realized. This scheme possess the merit of small bulk, lower power consume and clear image.Furthermore,the MPEG4 code standard and the theory of compressing is analysed. The chip IME6400 of MPEG4 code-besed is used to accomplishe the coding of video data.
