| IP Multimedia Subsystem is a subsystem introduced by 3GPP in its Release 5 version of the future network architecture to provide support of IP multimedia services. Its core thesis is to use SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) to control the sessions to implement the end to end multi-media communication. IMS has no relationship with access method, and can provide Fixed-Mobile Convergent service. So, IMS is regarded as the convergent control platform in the future industry.As the rapid grow of the customers who use Internet and high-level Mobile terminals, the unsatisfaction for the inefficient traditional telephone conference has risen. And the requirement for the integrated multi-party video, audio and data conference has brought up. The users expect that they can have real-time multi-party communication integrated with audio, video and data media with their collegues or friends by the video phone, video setup on computer, WEB browser, mobile phone and common terminal. And for enterprises, they can deeply improve the communication efficiency within employees or with their customers by the integration of audio, video and data media. And conference will become an exact and efficient communication tool. In face of these requirements, the traditional network architecture has not satisfied this requirement. IMS which is regarded as a convergent multi-media architecture and performs large advantages in the new communication service trial, attracts more and more attention from the operator, service providers and service developers. So to research and develop multi-media conference service in standard and open IMS architect has become the excellent solution these days.The article is organized like this: in the exordium of the first chapter, we firstly introduce the background, features and main functionalities of IMS, along with the present research status for multi-media conference service of international standard organization such as 3GPP and IETF. Then we explain the present multi-media conference implementation based on H.323 including the architecture, basic communication control and conference control mechinicsm and provide the disadvantage. The second chapter researches the architecture of the conference service. Then we research the requirement from the standard organization and the market, provide a convergent service architecture which can utilize the advantage of IMS network base on the IETF framework, and design the intenal functional modules and service scenario flow in particular. In the third chapter, we research and design the media control principle, user control principle, and conference control principle based on SIP Protocol. Also we provide the contrl role based user control mechniscm, media type based media control mechniscm and convergent service control mechniscm. And we emphasize on explaining the SIP with TCP(XML) media control protocol fit for the data service such as white board, application share service based on the XMPP protocol. The fourth chapter researches the JAIN SLEE architecture and component module which can rapidly develop and deploy service, then design and realize the key conference control service, event control module and service deployment of the multi-media conference in this open event-module technology standard. At last, we summarize the key technology in the research and design multi-media conferece based on IMS network, and provide the outlook of the future multi-media conference. |
