Study And Application Of Product Tracking In MES Based On WEB

Manufacturing Executive System(MES)is a bridge connecting the planning and management layer and the facility control layer, thus a key in system integration for an enterprise. The structure of Browser/Server is a new software model, especially suitable for software integration and construction of distributed systems. XML Web Service is a new technology. Striding over platform, language, its simplicity, effectiveness and good extensibility are its advantages. XML Web Service provides a software service by SOAP on Web, using the WSDL document to register and to describe the service. XML Web Service provides an API which can be called by users on the Web. XML Web Service enables communication between different platforms and different applications. XML Web services provides a new method of system integration, can realize information interaction on network manufacturing. Nevertheless, ordinary system using B/S pattern have some intrinsic flaws which are the slow response,the wait for refreshment of webpage and the difficulty with real-time data. Ajax could effectively resolve the some of the problems.This paper focuses on product tracking in MES based on WEB. Firstly, the paper analyses the problem of traditional MES on network manufacturing, the benefit of B/S pattern and the needs of enterprises. And then the paper discusses the support technology for software development based on B/S such as Web information server, XML Web Service data acquisition of manufacturing devices, Ajax and communication and so on. The system is developed using ASP.NET, Ajax, Web service. Finally, this paper concludes what have been done and makes some suggestions for future work.
