It is difficult to develop a complete set of motion control system because of the complexity of the system, as a result, researchers have to spend much time on the details, so an appropriate control platform should be used to enhance the efficiency of research.In this paper, a communication system, based on the fully digital synchronous motor control platform, is designed. The direct torque control (DTC)is proposed in the platform. DSP (digital signal processor) is the lower computer, control strategy of motor is realized by the assembly language in the DSP. PC is the upper computer, which is linked with the lower computer through RS232. Furthermore, a communication protocol is designed in view of the characteristics of RS232. In the upper computer, the basic frame of the main function is set up by Delphi 7.0, including the design of interfaces and database. Many different kinds of components can be offered by Delphi 7.0 to design interface, such as textbox, press button, timmer and so on. One of the components is MScomm, which is the most important one. Then Serial Communication is realized by MScomm such as start, stop, read/write the parameters, dynamic curve, so the Serial Control is executed. Interfaces include the followings: Raw Data Query Interface, Add New Record Interface, Dynamic Curve Interface, User Interface, Motor Control Interface. Database is established by Paradox, by which the parameters of the equipments can be stored and the data of functions can be transferred.Finally, the control parameters of the system can be real-time revised, wave can be observed, functioning of the motor can be understood well, data can be stored in the database. All the experimental results show that the communication system has perfect performance. So hardware and software environments can be provided by this platform, to implement motor control and verify control algorithms.
