Control System Design Of The Experiment Teaching Center

It is a common acquaintance in universities that experiment is highly important to higher education, and universities have been making enormous efforts to provide better condition. Computer Network Technology for Teaching Reform is the trend of the times and meets with the requirement of the modern experiment education.The project design work deals with both hardware and software. A principal and subordinate distributed network is adopted to reconstruct the experiment teaching control system of College of Materials Science and Engineering in HUST, and set up a brand new system for the teaching administrative control to truly achieve goals in creative experiment teaching.The system project focuses on an applicable mechanism for experimental instrument sharing and establishments on innovations concerning information, network and automation.The reconstructed experiment teaching system enables a unified teaching management on students using a computer. The system is programmed with Visual Basic6.0, and supports the function of management and control.This paper presents a brief introduction to the lab control system design based on RS-485 BUS and serial communication between a computer and many MCU. The teaching experiment center's control system adopts the principal and subordinate distributed network, and through a user-defined communication protocol the system communication function is realized. The communication protocol physical layer follows the RS-485 BUS interface standard. PC through a standard serial interface COM Port, communicating with lower place machine which the level has been converted to RS-485 standard level by a RS232/485 converter. The serial signal from MCU be converted to RS-485 standard electrical level by SN75LBC184, realize to network communication. The experimental results show that the system has its advantages and good utility and reliability.
