Research And Application Of RIA Based On Silverlight

With the development of Internet technology, users are not only concerned about the functional requirements, but also more and more concerned about the experience when they use the web-based application,which is called the user experience. For the limitation of the HTML,however, the traditional B/S-based applications could no longer satisfy the user. Thus, web applications step into a new stage of development,RIA. Silverlight, which is the key technology of RIA, has all the good features of HTML .At the same time, it introduces a new descriptional mechanism called XAML,which overcomes the limitations of HTML.With this new mechanism, you can create gorgeous user interface and highly interactive applications which will make the user experiece much richer.At first, the thesis analyzes the background of RIA and the benefits it brings to the applications on the base of analysis of traditional B/S shortcomings. And then, it focuses on the two basic requirments of RIA,rich user interface and data model. After a deep research of the Silverlight technology, it creates a new MVC-based lightweight Silverlight framework,which is applied to college students work management system successfully.The main work of this thesis is as follow:①Study the objective descriptional language of Silverlight - XAML, and analyze its characteristics and its advantage in Microsoft's new generation platform .NET Framework.②Study the Silverlight object model and analyze the properties of a variety of Silverlight objects and their meanings in RIA.③Study the event mechanism of Silverlight and describe the seamless integration mechanisms for creating human-computer interactive applications with ASP.NET and ASP.NET Ajax.④Create a lightweight model based on MVC for Silverlight and apply this framework to college students work management system.The lightweight MVC-based framework for Silverlight,which is applied to college students work management system successfully,increases the reuse of code, enhances the application maintainability and portability,improves the user experience. All of these verify the Silverlight's feasibility of creation of RIA and its great potential.
