WLAN uses the wireless medium to replace the traditional cable for information transfer.WLAN has such adrantages as low cost, simple network building, strong mobility, large data throughput, communication reliability and so on.As a member of the IEEE802.11 protocol series, IEEE802.11b uses the 2.4GHz ISM common frequency band and its highest data transfer rate is 11 Mbps, it has become one of the mainstream WLAN technology.Based on the embedded system and WLAN technology,the paper gives a solution for wireless monitor,mobile video ,mobile Ad-hoc network and so on.The system uses the ARM control system and WLAN integrated chip to implement the wireless mobile terminal. The system uses BGW200 as the WLAN integrated chip.BGW200 mainly charges for the wireless subsystem's data processing of PHY and DLL, including 802.11b wireless signal's transceiver, amplification, filtering, frequency mixer and baseband signal processing.WLAN subsystem supports bootstapping loading method and host loading method.The system uses the ARM9 chip S3C2410 as the CPU of ARM control subsystem, which based on ARM920T. The embedded Linux is used as the operation system.The ARM subsystem mainly charged for the data processing, the transformation between IEEE802.11b and IEEE802.3 protocol, and so on.It also supplies suffient HCI and the communication interface to other subsystem.The wireless platform transfers data through SPI interface between WLAN subsystem and ARM subsystem.The primary endeavor of this thesis includes several parts as following.It presents conceptual design solution of the wireless mobile terminal.It accomplishes the design of the embedded processor subsystem and the WLAN subsystem.It resolves the system's EMC problem of the 2.4GHz ISM signal.It accomplishes application software design. System's schematic, PCB, the installation, debugging and test of the hardware and software system are accomplished. The final testing result shows that the conceptual design of this system is successful on the whole.
