The thesis gave an introduction to the design and implementation of the testing system for remote sensing image based on PCI technologies. The system is composed of ASIC PLX9054 for PCI which processes the local data and FPGA which transmits the data to the computers.The testing system made use of PLX9054, FPGA and huge storage to test the image data and design camera simulation sources. The system could not only send/receive 16bit image data parallel but also simulate image data from different cameras. The highest parallel rate could achieve as high as 100MB/s, and the highest serial rate could achieve 128Mbps. The system has advantages of flexible data processing, small volume and low power consumption, and the back end of the system is open so that the users could redesign the system to joint with other transmission interface in different time sequence. In software design of the testing system, man-machine interface and data processing programme is designed independently to perform automatic data transmission, rapid display , data comparison and error notification without manual manipulation using script language in windows and Linux platforms.The testing system for remote sensing image possesses advantage of simple design and flexible application, and could send/receive huge data in different rates, bit widths and interfaces. The system has been applied to the automatic hardware assessment of JPEG2000 image compression system, space location system and ground detection platform of image compression system for lunar exploration.
