The Design Of Encryption Chip Based On DES

DES(Data Encryption Standard) was officially approved to be the standard encryption by ANSI in 1977.It has been encountered varieties of attacks and undergone long-term challenge since it had been opened to the public.Then based on these,it generates a new algorithm which got broad applicability.Being aimed at solving the defect that the key is too short to effectively fight against the exhaustive attack,this paper proposes a scheme of 3DES improvement.Besides that,it also designs and accomplishes the encryption circuit basing on DES and 3DES.Firstly,the principle of the DES and the 3DES is introduced in this paper.Then the verilog which is described language is used to accomplish the DES circuit.Eventually the simulation verification,logic synthesis and layout design are undertook.The DES encryption circuit designed in this paper has the following characteristics:1.Being compatible with DES and 3DES,it is able to be chosen according to the need.2.Having 8-bits data interface and 8-bits key interface,it is perfect to be used in circuit system having 8-bit bus.3.The use of clock-gating technique has greatly reduced the power consumption.4.The area of DES encryption circuit designed in this paper is small and suits for the circuit system which requires an encryption circuit with high security and small area.
