| Family Media Server becomes the center of the family entertainment. It provides the services of storage, management, burner and archived. Family Media Center is formed by the high performance of personal-computer as the server and multi-embedded systems as clients, such as the Set-top-box. Most of the embedded systems have a low frequency MCU, and one or two video encoders. So it suits to handle singular encoded media streams.As the server-client structure, it is suitable for the server to send the stream data as the compression which can be decoded by the hardware on the client. As there are kinds of media formats on the Internet, it is suitable for the server to deal with the multi-formats media to a singular one for the embedded client. Realize real-time multi-formats VOD system.Finish the research on server-client framework. Realize the transform of the format of multi-media files. Take the AVI files as the example, realize the extract of stream data from AVI file, the separate of audio and video streams, the decompress of data streams, the compress of data streams, the design of RTSP server, and the buffers. Analyze the software structure and the development environment, realize the RTSP client.The research was based on ST7100 platform which provides basic network access ability. Operation System was embedded Linux supporting SH-4 CPU core. The application was based on the Linux and middleware of ST.Test results show that the function is expected to achieve the smoothly broadcasting of media files on Family Media Server. The AVI files which contain MPEG-2 video and MPEG-4 video can be broadcasted smoothly. |
