In this thesis, the PROFIBUS that involves the Fieldbus technology is first introduced. Then the PROFIBUS-DP which is one version of PROFIBUS protocols is study in detail. One specific application of this technology is referred to the core electronic system VBE, whose function is to monitor and control the Converter in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmitting.With data formats for the VBE system in HVDC from Siemens, an intelligent DP slave station is implemented. It acts as a decentralized field control device based on both PROFIBUS-DP protocol and microprocessor. In this design, Infineon's XC164 family microcontroller is selected as the core processor. SPC3 is selected to realize the PROFIBUS-DP protocol; And theμVision3 IDE is used to develop the microcontroller. Under testing, the intelligent slave realized the communication with class 1st master, and was proved to satisfy the requirements of control and monitoring system for HVDC. |
