Research And Design Of A Multimedia Terminal Platform Based On DMB-TH

As information technology has entered the digital era,digital television is booming.The needs of high-quality digital media player and high-performance network information terminals is growing rapidly. So the transmission of digital television terrestrial came into being. It can not only provide high-quality playback, but also facilitate the realization of wireless transmission at any time. It will have broad market prospects. DMB-TH is a novel standard that China proposed independently,and it's suitable for China's national conditions. It supports wireless multimedia services perfectly. The embedded multimedia terminal based on it which can watch a digital TV and support a variety of media formats has great potential in mobile market.In this paper,to fulfil the demand of the reality,we proposed a wireless multimedia terminals based on DMB-TH standardand the features of embedded multimedia in the embedded platform. Television signals can be received,locked,decoded,demodulated and finally output by TS code stream by the front of a subsystem structured by LGS8913 and tuner. The TS code stream is provided to back-end application platform system. The back-end platform system was built on portable media center platform with a hardware system with PXA255 microprocessor,many integrated peripherals and an operating system with embedded Linux2.6.20, Qte opia graphical user interface. To meet the the specific requirements of portable receivers, we completed the demultiplexing capabilities of TS code stream with software.At the mean time, we decoded and played many multi-media formats such as the MPEG-2. The embedded Qt / E window systems was developed on the application layer.Test results showed that the front-end and back-end platform embedded Linux operating system can operate stably. It has a easier human-computer interface and can play clearly.
