Research On Vector Networks-IP Convergence

Nowadays, the IP network ranks as the most important place among the network technologies. But with the widespread development of Internet, high-clear television and the synthetical service of telephone, IP network can no longer be able to satisfy the requirement of information and correspondence loading, so a new network technology is urgently needed. NGN had put forward many significant frames and basic blue prints. Then the Vector Network (VN) comes forth in this development background.However, IP network has developed for several decades, and already spread all over the world. It is impossible to replace it immediately, even the best technology; and it is a development strategy to coexist with the IP networks for the new one. So it is necessary to research the convergence methods between the Vector Network and IP network. Only realized the network convergence, can the Vector Network occupy certain status in the network development. This article mainly carries on the research work of convergence between the Vector Network and IP network, especially the research of the convergence gateway.Firstly, this article analyzes the situation that the Vector Network assimilates existing networking technology, which is according to the Vector Network's definition and its technical characteristic.Secondly, this article analyzes the Vector Network convergent ability by its characteristic, its basic thought is the Vector Network's new characteristic including fractal characteristic and Object Oriented characteristic and so on.Finally, this article designs the convergent method according to the Vector Network convergent ability, and concretely designs the convergence gateway to realize the simple data transmission between the Vector Network and the IP network. Mainly include: (1) put forward the correspondence of vector address and IP address in the process of the Vector Network and the IP network's convergence; (2) put forward the transform between vector packet and IP packet; (3) ICMP packet's processing in the vector network, and so on.
