With increasing concern about energy saving and environmental protection, research and develop of Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and it's associated core technologies have become the key problem of the National Tenth Five-Year Plan and National "863" Plan, which is also very important in the national medium and long-term technology development plan. Under the support of the national "863"project, the Chang'An Automotive Corporation carries out research and development of ISG hybrid electric vehicle. HEV is multi-control system and also a complex system of coordinate control by several power sources. In the process of research and develop, we not only need real-time information on vehicle, but also need to record run data and fault information and carry out off-line analysis in order to analyze the various components of the operating conditions, optimizing and improving vehicle control strategies. Currently, vehicle communication control system based on CAN bus is used in HEV. A system, which is based on CAN bus and USB interface peripherals and also can record data continuously and analyze faults, can meet the requirement of data analysis and parameter monitoring in HEV.Based on the development of on-board monitoring system, this paper has mainly carried out the following research work:①On the basis of analyzing vehicle fault diagnosis, the status and trends of monitoring technique, the development of virtual instrument technology and the application of CAN bus in HEV system, general design scheme is designed according to the requirement of on-board data record and analysis system in HEV.②Integral Structure Design of hardware is carried out. According to the requirement of system performance, main control chip selection is finished.③Software function modules based on LABVIEW is designed, which includes real-time display module, off-line playback module, data analysis and fault diagnosis module, data saving module, report module, database management module as well as the design of system software's menu programs, context menu and so on.④In order to verify the system's function and performance, the integrated debugging of the hardware and software is carried out. In order to test the system, CANalyzer is used to send information to all components. Test results shows that the system is reliable, and the collection and record of data is complete and accurate. ⑤The system has been used in ChangAn hybrid power driving simulation test-bed. Based on the vehicle CAN network, information of the vehicle controller unit, engine controller unit, battery controller unit, and motor controller unit can be showed and saved. Data monitoring and curve analysis is carried out in the real-time monitoring and offline data playback. The experimental results whether in the run of vehicles or in the the process of off-line playback, data can be acquired accurately and shown quickly and intuitively. Data acquisition, condition monitoring, fault analysis are realized in this system. With the increasing intelligent of HEV design, the system in research and develop of HEV will be more widely used.
